A trip to the E. Village: Momofuku Fried Chicken

Monday dinners at 10pm after a red eye from Las Vegas are difficult to follow through with, but this was Momofuku Fried Chicken at the Momofuku Noodle Bar! I had made reservations almost a month in advance on the notoriously intimidating Momofuku reservation site (6 months of trying for Ko with no luck).

The lucky fried chicken diners consisted mostly of co-workers and we had a great time! Monday nights in the East Village count as a trip for me =P

We started off the night with their famous fatty pork buns and beer/sake. We were then presented with the cutest bowl of raw veggies and four different types of sauces (from bottom left: ginger and soy type sauce, siracha look a like, hoisin and scallions).

And finally... the FRIED CHICKEN cooked two ways: Korean style and Southern style. I personally preferred the juicier/saucier Korean style, but many people liked the Southern better.

It was a super fun experience to gather a bunch of people for this kind of feast! I'd say the Korean fried chicken at some other establishments may taste a little better though. Next fried chicken stop for me is the new Kyochon in Korea Town (i've been waiting for it to open for over a year)!
