Time-Out For Fried Chicken and Biscuits

Since I'm often described by coworkers and friends as someone who "eats like a frat boy", it's no surprise that I found one of my now favorite late night foods at Time Out Restaurant in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Time Out is one of those very popular local places with lots of history (ie: photos of famous people like Michael Jordan on the walls) that turns into a UNC/Duke student/alumni hangout by night. After 12am, it's mostly filled with obviously under the influence people (so many that it necessitates 2 security guards at the front door all night!). This was fine with me since late night is the best time to eat and the experience is akin to waiting for Chicken and Rice on 53rd and 6th (except there was barely a line here and we didn't have to suffer the elements outside -- two more pros).

Anyway, the guards told me that the Tarheel Favorite is the most popular, which is a piece of fried chicken in a cheddar biscuit. My bf insisted that we added scrambled eggs too and I didn't object since I do love my eggs!

Although this completely ruined my Health Month rule of "No Fried Food", I didn't regret losing a life point for this awesome late night meal. I can proudly say that I thought this was delicious even though I was NOT incoherently drunk like everyone else here (unlike the Philly cheesesteak / pizza combo I had in Philly -- I just didn't like that at all =X Video still to come soon!).

This is a must check out place if you ever find yourself in the Triangle area! Has anyone else been here before -- what'd you think?

These employees must be the most patient people in the world -- dealing w/ drunk kids all night long?? I wouldn't last a night...
We added hot sauce for an extra kick!
This is a bad photo, but wanted to show the size of the thing!
Oh man... I just want another one now!
