SF: The Best I Ever Had... Brunch at Mission Beach Cafe
Happy new year everyone!
I just got back to New York from 10 days back at home in California and I'm SO excited to share everything I did over vacation! I'm going to do it through a few posts, so stay tuned =)
To start... I wanted to share with you the BEST brunch experience/meal I've ever had!
On the first day of 2011, my boyfriend took me to Mission Beach Cafe. It already has tons of rave reviews on yelp and other websites, but I just want to confirm that they are ALL true! The food was awesome, service was SUPER friendly and the environment was jussst right.
Be ready to wait though -- they don't take brunch reservations, so the wait can get long (see photo below of people surrounding the entire place outside). Upside? You can order a refillable coffee and drink it outside while you wait!
Now onto the photos!
The line kept building outside and surrounded the entire restaurant. We felt so special to be inside =P
Their menu says they use chef selected cage free chicken eggs, organic veggies and all that good stuff -- and it definitely comes through in the food! See for yourself =)
Dungeness Crab Benedict -- SO delicious and with the most perfectly fried potatoes!
Short Rib Hash with sweet potatoes, butternut squash, brussel sprouts and fried eggs -- this was the last beef dish I ate before I started my chicken + fish + shellfish vegetarian diet challenge for the month =P Great choice for me!
Side of souffle pancakes with fruit compote and bourbon syrup -- slightly crispy on the outside, sweet and fluffy on the inside.
Anyway, this was probably one of the best meals I had on vacation and I hope those of you lucky enough to visit this restaurant should DO JUST THAT ASAP!!!!
Have any of you eaten here before? Did you love it as much as I did?
